Abstract

This study examines how the University Entrepreneurial Ecosystem (UEE) enhances Digital Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy (DESE) through Perceived Institutional Support for Digital Entrepreneurship (PISDE) and Digital Entrepreneurial Competence (DEC) among Generation Z university students in Indonesia. Drawing on the Resource-Based View and Social Cognitive Theory, cross-sectional data were collected at a single observation period from 482 students and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that UEE significantly strengthens PISDE, DEC, and DESE, while PISDE and DEC significantly enhance DESE. Mediation and sequential mediation effects were also supported. This study advances digital entrepreneurship literature by explaining how university ecosystems are transformed into entrepreneurial self-efficacy through institutional support and competence development, highlighting the importance of integrated university support mechanisms.
